The advantages of using plastic pots for nurseries in soilless cultivation are many and often obvious. The vases are not only intended to be used on porches, balconies or in the entrance halls of buildings, but also find space in gardens.
This makes it possible to cultivate plants with chemical-physical requirements that are very different from those of our soil. The first advantage that plastic pots offer is the possibility of growing plants that require a milder climate, but which otherwise would not survive the winter months in regions where it is very cold.
Thanks to the plastic pots, these plants can be easily moved and sheltered on the veranda. The vase also constitutes a microcosm in its own right compared to that of the garden, since the earth it contains can have totally different characteristics.
This allows you to have a collection of acidophilic plants (Hydrangea, Camellia, Rhododendron, Pieris…) in excellent health and with bright colours. Furthermore, plastic pots offer the possibility of isolating infected plants in the event of parasitic attacks, thus avoiding the spread of the infection.
In this way, it is also possible to protect them from “crawling” insects such as snails or defoliator larvae which are normally found at ground level. This is thanks to the possibility of lifting or hanging the vases, as in the case of baskets or hanging baskets.
